Today’s edition of 100 Eyes is all about the bike.
I know, you’re thinking to yourself, doesn’t he have a whole blog dedicated to biking? Yes, that’s the Everyday Rider blog here at argusleader.com.
However, as you may have noticed the issue of bikes on city streets and their use as transportation in the Best Little City in America is something of an ongoing topic for me.
Also, this weekend is Tour Sioux Falls.
So why not combine all of this into one power packed, star-studded half-hour of online programing? Exactly.
So today at 3 my guests will be Alicia Luther with the Parks and Recreation Department and Sam Trebilcock, a city transportation planner.
Alicia has been involved with the planning of Tour Sioux Falls since the beginning and handles all kinds of recreation issues for the city.
Sam is the man behind the rewrite of Sioux Falls’ biking laws and is probably the most knowledgeable person I know when it comes to how cars, bikes and everything else can work together.
Plus they’re both super people who I like talking to.
What could be better than that.
So if you feel you need to prime for the show here’s some background material. It’s also just good to keep these things around for casual reference.
My column from Sunday’s paper about how Sioux Falls is a bike town, previewing the TSF.
My column from Wednesday’s paper about the reaction to the Sunday column.
The Tour Sioux Falls web site.
The city’s biking regs.
That should about cover you for today.
See you at 3.
